The RS Class Association announce that entry for the Noble Marine RS200 National Championship will open at 6pm on Saturday 1st February

This year the fleet will make a welcome return to South Caernarvonshire YC, Abersoch, after a ten-year gap, racing from 4th-8th August.

Dubbed 'The Glastonbury of Dinghy Sailing' and with an initial entry limit of 90 boats, the RS Class Association expects there to be a flurry of excitement as entry goes live! RS200 sailors are urged to get their entries in early to guarantee a place, bearing in mind last year's Championship at Mount's Bay attracted 129 boats.

Abersoch remains very popular with the fleet for a whole host of reasons, not least the fantastic straight-off-the-beach sailing area, excellent race management and stunning coastline.

The RS200 Class has a reputation as the class where many top sailors from a wide range of classes come for fun and to enjoy competitive big fleet racing, gate starts and the legendary social scene, with many of the fleet qualifying as youths (aged 22 or under).

However, whilst the RS Class Association Nationals always attract the very best sailors, the events are welcoming and friendly for all, with socials designed to help those new to the fleet feel included from the start, as well as gold, silver and for bronze prize categories, meaning that everyone has something to aim for and can win prizes, including the longstanding 'first family' prize for a parent sailing with their son/daughter and the new 'we are family' prize for siblings.

The voluntary class committee are working on the social programme, with plans well-formed, but under wraps! We can tell you that the famous fancy dress party and formal Championship Dinner will be returning, as will the popular top table Q&A and Masters Meal.
