Event organizers of Charleston Race Week at Patriots Point are excited to announce a new launch and storage solution for 2025, made possible by the generous support of the South Carolina Ports Authority (SCPA).

The north end of Union Pier Terminal, located on the Charleston peninsula, will be available for participants, providing gated storage space free of charge for pre- and post-event storage.

This new location, just south of the Charleston Maritime Center offers a secure and convenient option for boat owners. To facilitate the process, lifts and cranes will be furnished for launching and hauling, as well as water and electricity to ensure boats can be properly prepared before launching, and after hauling.

Race Week Event Organizers aim to keep costs minimal, but need to cover expenses for the equipment and professional personnel. The rates are as follows:

  • Boats up to 27 feet: $150.00 per single pick
  • Boats 28 to 32 feet: $300.00 per single pick with mast stepping
  • Boats 33 to 35 feet: $600.00 per strapped pick with mast stepping

This initiative is expected to be a game-changer for Charleston Race Week at Patriots Point, addressing past logistical challenges and enhancing the overall experience for participants. Registration for the launch and haul service will be integrated into Yacht Scoring, and participants will be able to sign up through their event registration. The space is secured, and SCPA security will grant access to those on the list.

Early registration ends on January 31

The deadline to receive the early entry discount is fast approaching. Don't wait until the last minute, as your immediate registration allows Event Organizers to plan proactively and efficiently. The deadline is Friday, January 31, 2025. Register online at Yacht Scoring. Having trouble registering? Download and read this Yacht Scoring Registration Info Sheet (PDF) to help make the process a little smoother as it transitions to its new platform. Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding as we navigate this together.
