International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach met with World Sailing President Quanhai Li and World Sailing CEO David Graham at Olympic House in Lausanne to congratulate the federation on a very successful quadrennial and its excellent contribution to the Paris 2024 Olympics.

President Bach presented President Li with a Presidential Award to mark these successes as well as his election to serve his second term in office. Also present was IOC First Vice President Ser Miang NG and IOC Sport Director Kit McConnell.

President Li paid tribute to his Vice Presidents "Since my election as World Sailing President in 2020, my Vice Presidents have worked extremely hard and we have had many successes particularly in greater stability, more unity, unanimous approval for our new strategy, our new Olympic Vision, an unprecedented 94% support from our members for our governance reform project, and a successful Olympic Games.

"As we transition to a new board, we recognise the excellent contribution of the World Sailing staff, volunteers and departing board resulting in these successes. Sailing is in great shape, and I look forward to working with my new Board and all stakeholders who want to make a contribution in the best interests of sailing."
