Tenzor International Cup - J/70 Open Winter Series 2024-2025 - Stage 1 begins

From 12 to 15 of December, the first stage of Tenzor International Cup (J/70 Open Winter Series) 2024-2025 will be held alongside the Aspat Bay and Aegean sea at the Tenzor Sailing Club Turkiye! Sixteen teams are registered in Open and Corinthian divisions with a lot of skilled and amateur sailors in the entry list.

The TOP-5 sailing teams classified last season are coming for all stages of the Series. Tenzor Team of Andrei Pushkin, Bogatyrs of Igor Rytov, Dolce Vita led by Inna Balashova, Hubex team of Kirill Frolov will meet the serious Turkish rivals such as Cheese Sailing, Eker, IVEDI and others.

Several teams makes its debut at the first stage of the Tenzor International Cup Winter Series. Among them there is Double V Sailing Team with famous "Dragon" class sailors skippered by Mikhail Senatorov. Team O1 PROPERTIES is also the newcomers for 2024-2025 winter season. Skippered by skilled sailor Eduard Skornyakov the crew started their performance in Turkish marinas from the Tour of Turkiye regatta in Ayvalyk, where the team could learn the local conditions and the rivals.

The next one is ATOLL Sailing team led by Anatoly Arnautov with a well-coordinated crew has international experience, sailing on Melges 20, Melges 24. The team will take part in all stages of the Tenzor Cup Internatioanal series 2024-2025 and is ready for a new challenge!

Finally, one more new name in the entry list of upcoming regatta is TREM Sailing team with lady Svetlana Sorokina on the helm and her experienced team members who already sailed last season in Tenzor International Cup Series and will do their best to be in TOP of the ranking.

Corinthian division gathered the best teams of the last season - AYAZ team skippered by Arif Ayaz, ASPAT team by Mehmet Okay and Ada JR team who will be represented in the TIC 2024/2025 season by an international crew staff with sailors from Turkey, France, Ireland and Russia. Orient Express team led by Arif Gurdenli and Gaswar of Alexander Romanov will also fight for the win.

The program includes a practice day and three racing days. In sporting aspect, the Series in just on the start line. The first of five stages in calendar will be an important step for all teams to get first points in overall standings. For sure, there will be very intense and full of adrenalin battles of the strong fleet this weekend.

The Tenzor International Cup J/70 Winter Series is supported by the Turkish Sailing Federation and the J/70 International Class Association. Qualified judges and umpires from Croatia, Spain, Germany and Turkey provided a high level service last year, and will work again in a well-coordinated team in this winter season.

The principal judge of the competition, Can Giray, is one of the key specialists in the Turkish Sailing Federation with big experience in judging of J/70 fleet races. And chief umpire Neven Baran is a high level specialist from Croatia who served such sailing competitions as America's Cup in Auckland 2002 and Valencia 2007, Paris-2024, Sydney, London and Rio de Janeiro Olympics. Neven is a World Sailing International Judge and Umpire and regularly judging since 1993.

Sailing is great in Turkey and Tenzor International Cup - J/70 Open Winter Series 2024-2025 gives a good prospects for its international expansion.
