Yoann Richomme on Paprec Arkea continues to lead the Vendée Globe with Charlie Dalin on MACIF Santé Prévoyance on his tail and Sébastien Simon on Groupe Dubreuil a few miles behind.
The top nine are are all now past the longitude of the Cape of Good Hope, and have the task of navigating their first Indian Ocean storm ahead. Do they go for the strongest winds, or take a longer route north for safey?
