2024 “Belt and Road” International Regatta at Beihai, China

At 10:00 AM on October 10, the pre-launch ceremony for the 2024 "Belt and Road" International Regatta (Beihai, China), organized and promoted by Arthur Sports, was grandly held at the picturesque Beihai Guan ling Bay marina. The event attracted 30 high-level sailing teams from various countries and regions, including Malaysia, Croatia, Turkey, Italy, France, South Africa, Spain, Vietnam, Singapore, and Hong Kong China, showcasing the vibrant international sports exchange under the Belt and Road Initiative.

Attending the ceremony were Li Li, Deputy Secretary of the Beihai Municipal Committee and Mayor; Li Quanhai, President of World Sailing; Wei He, Deputy Director of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Sports Bureau; Georgia Andreadi, Consul General of the Greek Consulate in Guangzhou; Azlan Abdullah,Executive Director of the Royal Langkawi Yacht Club in Malaysia; Mai Chengzhu, Deputy Mayor of Beihai; Wei Guiru, Committee Member and Deputy General Manager of the Guangxi Tourism Development Group; Ana Miskulin, Secretary General of the Croatian Association for the Promotion of Peaceful Reunification of China; Levent Ozonur, Executive Director of the Turkish National Sailing Federation and Co-founder of Bodrum Sailing Center; Ye Jianhua, Chairman of the Guangxi Sailing Association; Li Baiqiang, Secretary-General of Beihai Municipal Government; and Li Caineng, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Director of the Beihai Tourism, Culture and Sports Bureau. At the ceremony, Mayor Li Li presented the flag to the captain of "Beihai", officially announcing the commencement of the regatta. Speeches were also delivered by Wei He and Mai Chengzhu.

The sailing ceremony is over and the race begins immediately. On the first competition day, October 10, there were 2 rounds of route races and 1 round of long-distance races. The top three teams in the day's total results were: China XIAMEN OCEAN VOCATIONAL COLLEGE Sailing Team, China SF Express Sailing Team, Porsche Club Shanghai Sailing Team.

October 11th is the second competition day. The top three teams in the day's total results were: China SF Express Saling Team, China XIAMEN OCEAN VOCATIONAL COLLEGE Sailing Team, China Xiamen City University Sailing Team. South African Exequte Racing Sailing Team captain Jay d'Engle said after the second race day: "I have participated in four "Belt and Road" international sailing regattas, and this is the one I have the best experience with. This year's players are all very strong, and I am very happy to meet more friends from different countries."

October 12th is the final competition day. After three days of fierce competition, China SF Express Sailing Team won the 2024 "Belt and Road" International Regatta(Beihai,China) Championship. China XIAMEN OCEAN VOCATIONAL COLLEGE Sailing Team won the second place. This competition also established four individual awards.

Heroine Award——In recognition of this event, it is also the only all-female sailing team since the "Belt and Road" International Regatta has been held for six years—— Decathlon Wonder 1 sailing team. This sailing team is composed of Tokyo Olympic athletes, National Games champions of the People's Republic of China, and National Sailing Championships. They ultimately ranked 12th in the tournament.

Young Eagle Award - used to encourage the youngest player in this competition, a 12-year-old girl named Liu Xuanyue, for her positive performance and contribution to her team during the three-day competition.

Special Contribution Award—used to thank the venue provider for this event.

Event Partner Award - used to thank the sponsors of this event, such as SF Express, Decathlon and other brands.

On the evening of October 12, the 2024 "Belt and Road" International Regatta (Beihai,China) awards ceremony was held at the Silver Beach No. 1 International Conference Center Hotel in Beihai, Guangxi, marking the successful conclusion of this event.

The 2024 "Belt and Road" International Regatta will continue to hold three overseas races, including Langkawi, Malaysia, November 1st to November 4th. Croatia, November 14th to November 18th, and November 27th. —Turkey station on December 1st.
