A day of massive excitement for the Luna Rossa fans who celebrated a hard-earned win in the second match after a setback due to a breakage in the previous race. Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli once again comes up thanks to the strength and resilience of the team, close knit against the odds and moving on more determined than ever.

On the fifth day of the Louis Vuitton Cup Finals, the AC75 foiling monohulls raced in spectacular conditions, reaching speeds over 50 knots in the SW 18-knots that gusted up to 20 knots and wavy sea state.

MATCH #07 - GBR vs ITA

Luna Rossa started strong, controlling Ineos Britannia and leading up the first beat. After rounding the first mark just one second behind the British boat Luna Rossa suffered a nosedive in the first part of the leeward leg, damaging an aerodynamic fairing and the wind sensor. Unable to continue, Luna Rossa was forced to retire from the race.

Winner: GBR (+ 1 point)

MATCH #08 - ITA vs GBR

With the wind now blowing at 20 knots, Luna Rossa was out to even the score. Thanks to the excellent work of the shore team, who repaired the damage in record time, the crew led by Jimmy Spithill and Francesco Bruni took the lead from the start. Ineos Britannia incurred a penalty for crossing the boundary, and from that point Luna Rossa lead at every mark, gradually increasing the lead. Despite the British team's efforts to close the gap and pressure the Italian crew with continuous maneuvers, Luna Rossa made no mistakes and covered Ineos Britannia until the Italians crossed the finish line with a 16-second lead.

Winner: ITA (+ 1 point)

Luna Rossa's crew today featured Jimmy Spithill and Francesco Bruni at the helm, with Umberto Molineris and Andrea Tesei as trimmers. The cyclors on board were Enrico Voltolini and Bruno Rosetti in both races, while Cesare Gabbia and Emanuele Liuzzi alternated with Paolo Simion and Luca Kirwan.
