With just under two weeks to go to the 43rd Hamble Winter Series a good number of the usual suspects have lined up to make battle with their friends and competitors.

Last year's IRC 3 winners JAGO, Mike and Susie Yates are back and so are the competition. J'ronimo, Davis Greenhalgh, second last year has signed up as have the next two from list, Mojo Risin', Rob Cotterill and Chris and Vanessa Choules, With Alacrity.

Banter, Ian Handly, who spent the whole of last year chasing the eventual Yacht of the Series, Protis, Ian Southworth, will be getting excited as no entry has yet arrived for Protis. Quokka 9, James Crew is back again and one of the best sailed Impala 28's in the history of the series has returned. Polly will be sailed by Ben Meakins. Whether Grandad Phil will be onboard, or babysitting remains to be seen. Gavin Howe's Wavetrain on the IRC 2 podium last year has also returned.

The first weekend of the series also hosts the Hamble One Design Championships. This weekend is a J70 Slam Series event so the competition will be fierce. The J111's are back again too and Journeymaker 11, Chris Jones and Louise Makin, will be hoping to repeat their success of last year.
