The Adriatic city of Split is set to host a prestigious doubleheader for the Melges 24 class. Over the next two weeks, the Sailing club Split will welcome more than 40 boats and hundreds of sailors from 11 countries, including Croatia, the USA, Great Britain, Italy, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Germany, Austria, Poland, and Hungary.

The Melges 24, a highly competitive one-design class, will feature two regattas: the Split CRO Melges 24 Cup (September 21-23) and the European Championship (September 27-October 4). Both events will offer sailors a chance to compete on a world-class racecourse and experience the unique charm of the Croatian coast.

Croatia's sailing community is particularly excited about the regattas, with a strong domestic fleet led by the reigning Melges 24 Corinthian world champion, Mataran 24. Other notable Croatian sailors, including Ivan Kljakovic Gašpic, Karlo Kuret, and Tomislav Bašic, will also be competing.

The Split CRO Melges 24 Cup, a part of the European Series, will serve as a warm-up for the European Championship. This event offers sailors the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the local conditions and prepare for the upcoming championship.

'Two European regattas in Split have arrived as a result of the dedicated work of the entire Melges 24 class in Croatia. Thanks to our joint efforts, we have managed to revive the class and attract a large number of sailors who eagerly come to the CRO Melges 24 Cup regattas. I am sure that we are in for top-notch regattas where numerous Croatian and foreign crews will enjoy themselves,' emphasized Luka Šangulin, president of the Croatian Melges 24 class association.

The Split CRO Melges 24 Cup is supported by a number of partners, including Angelina Yacht Charter, Sailing Point Croatia, North Sails, One Sails, Akvarij digital studio, regate.com.hr, Raiser digital agency, EmergenSea, and Dustom Sails.
