The second fleet of six teams who are not affiliated with an America's Cup team have their first day of racing in the elimination series for the UniCredit Youth America's Cup started racing today, under grey overcast skies.

Due to light winds, only one race was sailed - and that was shortened to just three legs.

The home team - Spain managed to stay foiling and after a couple of touchdowns got across the finish line. The Canadian team did the same to pass Sweden, who had led for most of the race, right on the finish line.

After the wind failed to fill in, the Race Committee abandoned racing for the day at 1400hrs UTC. Racing will continue on Saturday starting at 1209UTC.

Race 1: 1. ESP 2. CAN 3. SWE 4. GER 5. AUS
