New EIGHTY 2 - A voyage for your emotions

by Lagoon Catamarans 15 Sep 2024 01:03 PDT

The Lagoon crew have developed this new model with one clear ambition: to let your emotions set sail. Aboard the EIGHTY 2, each detail has been carefully considered to offer an experience that goes far beyond simple cruising.

The combination of space, comfort, and innovation transform each cruise into a true sensory experience, proposing unique moments for all on board, along each leg of the journey.

Open to the sea, the EIGHTY 2 is the result of a dream, that of escaping the everyday.

The architects, as well as the owners and crew of the SEVENTY 7, have played a central role in the creation of the EIGHTY 2. This synergy, embodying both heritage and innovation, has lent a story to each line and curve of this new model, a common vision that comes to life through the sketches and translates the very essence of emotion.

In this quest for perfection, Lagoon has collaborated closely with creative talents, such as Patrick Le Quément, whose sketchbooks reveal the first draft of this new model.

These sketches are much more than drawings; they are the result of a process of deep reflection, where each pencil stroke captures an idea, an emotion, a desire to create something truly unique.

"Born to sail, this new model is the very definition of eternal. it is an iconic yacht." - Thomas Gailly, Lagoon Brand Director.

An aft cockpit opening onto the sea

Step aboard and admire a commanding view of the sea. The EIGHTY 2 is designed to offer the best: open and direct access to the ocean. Together with family and friends, enjoying the simple luxury of a sunset at sea sets the stage for a perfect summer evening.

The aft swim platform, an invitation to dive in

Aboard the EIGHTY 2, the aft swim platform can reach up to 22 m2 when deployed, an extension of the cockpit. Adaptable to suit your preferences and cruising plans, it has been designed to integrate a tender or a jet ski, as well as to serve as a setting for the most beautiful dives.

Comfortable flybridge access

The stairway is distinguished by a simple, functional design. It facilitates access to the flybridge with a safe, gentle incline.

"You won't be able to resist the temptation of climbing the stairs, which lead comfortably to the flybridge, and there, you will discover an oversized living space, a flybridge designed for enjoying countless moments... Gently rocked by the sea and basking in the glow of a golden sunset." - Patrick le Quement, exterior Design.

A flybridge just your style

The flybridge, extending nearly 50 m2, affords an exceptional panoramic view of the horizon. It is also a space for personal expression, where loose furniture can be arranged to suit individual preferences. This approach enables future owners to configure the flybridge according to taste, to create a setting that is entirely their own style.

Twin helms for easy handling

The flybridge is equipped with twin helms. This creates a dedicated area especially for sail handling, as well as a gain in space on the lower decks. The advantage of these twin helms is direct access to all the lines and winches. The mast moved forward also provides a generous space for relaxing between destinations.

Take advantage of the sun's energy with solar panels

The bimini and the coachroof of the EIGHTY 2 are equipped with solar panels to supply power for the various equipment on board. Cleverly integrated, and paired with a carefully studied Lithium battery pack, they enable owners to maximize the use of renewable resources during extended times at anchor.

Enjoy time together

On the Foredeck of the EIGHTY 2 The forward cockpit is a true saloon on the water. Partially covered, and directly connected to the bar area of the saloon by a door and an opening window, this living space is a natural extension of the interior saloon.

With a clever layout, it can accommodate up to eight people, offering an inviting setting for relaxation.

Here, each person can take in a breathtaking panoramic view while remaining sheltered from the sun and the breeze by a sun awning.

Fluid movement on the interior and the exterior

With flush floorboards, the saloon flows naturally to the aft cockpit and forward cockpit, guaranteeing ease of movement about the catamaran and between various living spaces. On the interior, the spacious saloon features multiple distinct living areas for various life moments.

Large windows to admire the horizon

Living spaces aboard this catamaran have been designed to live naturally, with complete freedom. The interior turned toward the exterior echoes the design codes of seaside villas, offering a 360 degrees view to admire the horizon.

"Contemporary and luxurious, inviting and relaxing, cool and bright: this new yacht presents an innovative, contemporary interior design, an on-trend designer interior with timeless style." - Massimo Gino, Interior Design.

From the owner's cabin, the king-sized berth features a view of the sea, while the private terrace and areas for relaxation create a true private haven.

"We have worked on the smallest details, which are never just details, because the design is a whole, and everything must contribute to its appeal." - Patrick le Quement, Exterior Design.

More sustainable resin

The Lagoon R&D department has worked for years, hand in hand, with cutting-edge suppliers. Today, this synergy has enabled us to offer a resin that is labeled "low carbon."

Our commitment to R&D

Non-structural parts have already been created, for several years now, using this bio-sourced resin and hemp fiber. Use of this new resin to construct the hulls of the EIGTHY 2 is a major advance for the industry, signifying that it has passed all required structural, quality, and technical tests.

Composition

Classic resins are made of components that are entirely sourced from petrol. The low-carbon resin is composed of 100% bio-sourced, recycled material. This results in a reduction by 50% in the carbon footprint of the resin. With this new-generation resin, Lagoon is saving 10 tons in CO2 emissions per boat. This innovation is one of numerous subjects studied by the Groupe Beneteau in an initiative to reduce the carbon footprint by 30% by 2030.

Founded on excellence

Since Lagoon's creation- day after day, year after year- the Lagoon crew have been committed to a quest. It is a demanding, rigorous, perpetual quest for excellence.

A unique experience

Lagoon experts accompany future owners throughout their purchase, from defining their catamaran to seeking solutions for personalization, to render their yacht unique. Whether working to customize their future boat, to simulate hull colors, or to select interior layouts, woodwork, or upholstery, the Lagoon crew offer customers a renowned savoir-faire and an entirely personalized service.

"From the beginning, we have built with pride a total of 88 boats of over 75 feet, of which 52 were Seventy 7S and Seventy 8S, and 36 were custom-built one-offs)." - Thomas Gailly, Brand Director.
