Slated for Friday to Sunday, 13th to 15th September, the Island's combined clubs' Carey Olsen Jersey Regatta will again be turning the beautiful arena of St Aubin's Bay into a stunning hive of activity and blaze of colour when the fleet comes to the line for the 26th edition of this great event.

Carey Olsen group chairman, Alex Ohlsson, says: 'As fifth-time sponsors of this flagship sailing event, we are proud to continue supporting the Jersey Regatta and look forward to seeing local and visiting boats come together for three days of competition and camaraderie.'

Jersey Marinas, great supporters since the first edition, will be providing free berthing and much other valuable assistance to help ensure that everyone has a great time throughout the event.

Following a welcoming reception on the Thursday evening, racing will get under way on Friday morning when the cruiser, Quarter Ton and sportsboat classes come to the line for a warm-up coastal race. The dayboat, dinghy and sport catamaran classes' programme follows that afternoon. Increased excitement awaits competitors in the IRC classes in the form of the 11th edition of the GBR IRC Channel Islands Championship (www.rorcrating.com) running over Saturday and Sunday with prizes kindly provided by Spinlock. Regatta chairman Bill Harris says 'We are really looking forward to putting on another great show and to enjoying the company and keen competition that accompanies all visiting boats. We are delighted to be so well supported by Carey Olsen'.

With each day's racing done, a lively social programme awaits all competitors and volunteers enabling them to enjoy the camaraderie and ever-warm reception that awaits them in the clubs. Local sailors and organisers are especially looking forward to welcoming visiting boats and, especially, to welcoming those competing in the Regatta for the first time.

Time is running short; entries close on Tuesday 10th September. Anyone wishing to sign up should go to www.jerseyregatta.com where they will find the Notice of Race, Sailing Instructions and all the information that they need to join in this outstanding event.

For further information, contact the Regatta Office by e-mailing or telephone +44 (0) 1534 732229.
