Ten DF95s had perfect A rig conditions on return to Sheppey after a 3 week break. The battle at the front was immediately joined by Dave Adams and Mike Brand, both getting 2 wins, Mike with new black sails.

Peter Jackson pushed them hard with 2 seconds and a third, and everyone in the fleet got at least one podium as the wind shifted and gusted unusually for the tree-free Barton's Point country park venue.

The David and Mike filled most top 2 places, but by race 7 of the 20 sailed Jim La Roche got his shifts together with a 2nd, then later 3 firsts. Colin Honour won race 16 to go with 5 other podiums. Peter got another 2nd but, hit by 2 port boats, slipped down the results to finish behind Colin. Having a bad day was Robert Owens managing 3 podiums but also counting four 8th places. Alan Hounsell got two 2nds & 3rds but was no better off with two 8ths & 9ths to count, slipping below Robert.

Paul Woodward showed promise with a 2nd. He had to leave early but just kept Rob Maunder at bay. Rob, still learning radio sailing, did get a 3rd, as did Ralph Wilkinson who also retired early, to be race officer. Jim slipped to 30 points off the pace but the battle at the front went down to the wire. Mike Brand won the last 2 races to end up 2 points better off, but Dave Adams' consistent 10 wins from 20 races left him one point ahead after discards.
