In 2024 we are delighted to announce that Tide Ride is back, this year as the Soak Tide Ride!

The original Tide Ride was an event held for a number of years in the early 2000s. It was a massive festival event sponsored by Red Bull and then by Holt. It even had coverage on the BBC!!

Racing is held at high water. Races are short, fast and testing, with an upwind leg followed by a downwind leg through slalom gates which bring the boats together. This makes for exciting racing for competitors and spectators.

Soak Tide Ride 2024 is delighted to invite 29ers, RS800s, WASZPs and Wingfoiling.

We are really excited to be supported by Soak Insurance, Salcombe Gin and Sandy Point Water Sports.

It's a complicated event to plan, limited to 50 craft per fleet, so early entry is advised and welcomed for planning purposes!

Event T shirt for all entrants pre 7th September.

Event Details:

  • Saturday 5 October - "Heats" - 2 Courses and all craft will be racing in heats with live commentary on the balcony
  • Saturday night - Party Night!
  • Chilli - tickets available on entry or can be purchased later if needed
  • Fleet Raffle - all entrants will automatically be entered!
  • DJ Freddie Covell - All competitors and HISC Members welcome to dance the night away!
  • Sunday 6 October - the "Finals"!
  • This is a spectator event as much as a racing one, with viewing and commentary from the Club House and on the water Spectator boats.
