While the America’s Cup racing begins in Barcelona, preparations for the 2024 Moth Worlds continue.

Joining naming sponsor PredictWind, we have now secured the remaining sponsors. MacKay Boats one of the Class builders of hulls, foils and trolleys. North Sails with their successful sails. C-Tech the Carbon specialists of spars, battens and various components. Zhik the sailing apparel specialists. UP Real Estate the local estate agency to see when buying or selling property.

Ze Build the local builder of very fine homes on the Peninsula. Oceanbridge the company you want to use when freighting around the world. WildLight the vintner from Marlborough with the finest Sauvignon Blanc and Traffica the traffic management company for all your road services requirements.

“We are eternally grateful for the sponsorship from all of the above companies for the date supporting this high profile event being hosted by the Manly Sailing Club” says Harold Bennett (Chairman of the Organising Committee).

As the first close off time of entries 1st October approaches, entries are understandably a little slow, however Iain Jensen (AUS), a two time medallist in the Moth Worlds and wing trimmer for INEOS Americas Cup, Phil Robertson (NZL) a five time world match race champion and a top hired Gun for Sail GP and Luca Calabrese, Riley Gibbs and Ben Rosenberg all American Magic crew members have already entered.

Local sailors Jake Pye, (the overall leader of the 2023 event when it was abandoned without a result), Mattias Coutts and Seb Menzies who were 7th and 14th respectively in the same event, have all entered so far.

It is expected that by 1st October there should be a good indication of the list that we expect to see including many more high profile sailors currently involved in other major yacht racing events.

The Manly Sailing Club situated on the northern side of the Whangaparaoa Peninsula presents a summer setting that provides a range of conditions for competitive and exciting racing
