How to watch the Olympic sailing in the UK

by Mark Jardine 3 Aug 02:46 PDT 28 July - 8 August 2024

Sadly, the days of the BBC showing the Olympics on multiple streams online and via the 'Red Button' on your TV are over, and what they feature is pretty limited. We've only seen snippets of the sailing at best.

Thankfully there is a cheap option available, using Discovery+, who have an Olympic Special subscription for £3.99 / month. All you need to remember to do is cancel the subscription before the end of August so that it doesn't renew, and that'll be all it costs you. Bafflingly, this isn't on the World Sailing broadcasters page.

You can watch on PC / Mac, and the Discovery+ app is available on iOS and Android for phones and tablets.

With the Windsurfing Finals today (Saturday 3rd August), as long as the wind plays ball, it seems like a great time to give it a go.

The television coverage of the sailing is superb, with excellent on-screen graphics, on-board cameras, and good commentary.
