Zhik is proud to support some of the world's best young sailors as they compete in Plymouth for the chance to be crowned World Cadet champion.

The UK Cadet Class Association event brings together 200 sailors aged 7 to 17 from across the world, to compete at the highest level of youth sailing.

A truly international event, 100 teams from as far away as Australia and Argentina are competing for their individual nations on Plymouth Sound between July 27 and August 9. The event, held at the Mount Batten Watersports and Activities Centre and hosted by Plymouth Youth Sailing Club, also hosts a team from India, for the first time in two decades. GBR places at the Worlds were hard fought, with two selection weekends narrowing down to 28 young sailors across 14 teams selected.

Starting from sizes 10 through 14, boys can transition into size XS Men's and girls from size 12 into XS Women's sizes.

Cadet racing is taking place against the stunning backdrop of Plymouth Hoe and the Barbican, and Zhik will be awarding prizes for the top two in every race (Gold and Silver fleet), plus additional prizes and a Zhik voucher for every competitor. The winners will also have the opportunity to become part of Zhik’s coveted Ascender Program, created to accelerate the path of budding young sailing stars, supporting them with kit, sponsorship and mentorship throughout their campaigns.

The Worlds opening ceremony will take place on Friday, August 2 at 6pm when all 100 international teams will take to the water for a parade around the Mountbatten breakwater. Races begin on Sunday, August 4, with events every day until Friday, August 9.
