For the third consecutive year, HM International, the international patient service of the leading private hospital group HM Hospitales, will continue to support the boat "HM Hospitales-Hydra" and its team for 2024, as it will participate in the category Odilo ORC 1 with the biggest boats enrolled in the next 42nd edition of Copa del Rey MAPFRE, organised by Real Club Náutico de Palma de Mallorca from July 28th to August 3rd, 2024.

This is the most international category, with the participation of 22 units from 12 different countries. The boat owner Oscar Chaves, together with the Olympic medalists Fernando León and Kiko Sánchez Luna along with 12 crew members with extensive experience, confirmed they have the best team and boat to compete in such a high level.

Oscar was confident to say that "with the support and resources from HM International, we are in a good place to beat our own track record in the ORC category with our DK46 and push ourselves to deliver and win as many regattas as possible. We look forward to starting the Cup and compete against the best in the bay of Palma".

This category characterized by the participation of the largest boats of the event add extra excitement for spectators, particularly at the start of the race, where all boats sail towards the starting line and manoeuver impressively despite the size of these boats.

This 14m DK 46 boat has a very successful track record after winning five editions of Copa del Rey MAPFRE in Palma de Mallorca, the 27th TabarcaVela-Diputación de Alicante, the 50th edition of the Conde de Godó Trophy in 2023 in ORC 0-1 and the XXXV edition of La Ruta de la Sal in Ibiza last April 2023.

For HM Hospitales and HM International, it is a very exciting alliance for sharing the same values, according to its president, Dr. Juan Abarca, "the sport of sailing demands rigour, effort, preparation and continuous demand to face the competition with guarantees, for this reason we feel very identified both with this sponsorship and with the nature of this sport"
