Firstly, the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) submitted comments to California's Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) in response to its proposed changes to Proposition (Prop) 65 short-form warning requirements.

For several years, NMMA and its members have been working with the California regulator to provide clarity around the labelling proposal and its impact on the recreational boating industry.

Marina news: The Association of Marina Industries has accredited the following facilities as Clean & Resilient Marinas: Miami Beach Marina, Caloosa Cove Marina, Safe Harbor Rockland, Madeline Island Yacht Club, Safe Harbor Great Island, Safe Harbor Sunset Bay. The managers of each facility participated in a two-day training event to become certified as Clean & Resilient Marina Professionals. The intensive course taught federal regulatory requirements, best management practices, and green techniques for operating a marina that places minimal impact on its natural surroundings and sets itself up to be resilient as the environment changes.

Suntex Marina Investors, the largest standalone recreational marina owner in the U.S. by marina count and boat slips, announced today that it expanded its Channel Islands Harbor holdings with the purchase of Marine Emporium Landing in Oxnard, California.

Expansions: Archipelago Yachts has expanded its dealership network with the addition of Expedition Yacht Experts (previously Seaton Yachts) based in Newport, RI. The British powercat builder, in collaboration with Chartwell Marine, will be joining the prestigious line-up of sought-after yachting brands at Expedition Yacht Experts, Archipelago's second US dealership.

AF Theriault & Son Ltd, one of Canada's largest privately-owned commercial shipyards, announced an exclusive partnership with New Zealand's leading electric ferry design and technology company, EV Maritime. This partnership has been formed in relation to Halifax Regional Municipality's upcoming procurement of electric ferries serving the community of Bedford, Nova Scotia. Expected to be completed in the 2027-2028 fiscal year, the entire project is estimated at CAD$258.7M and will include ferries, terminals and infrastructure to support Halifax's growing demand for sustainable transport.

Corporate news: Marine Products Corporation (NYSE: MPX) announced this week that it will release its financial results for the second quarter on July 25 before the market opens. In conjunction with its earnings release, the Company will host a conference call to review the Company's financial and operating results.

Product updates: Cox Marine is proud to announce that the latest addition to its product line-up, the 350 V8, a 350hp variant of its V8 diesel outboard architecture has successfully achieved EPA Tier III approval for commercial and recreational applications. The certification allows the British outboard and diesel pioneer to open its order book in anticipation of production commencing in August.

Raymarine, a global leader in high-performance marine electronics for the recreational boating, marine first-responder and law-enforcement markets - announced this week powerful new fishing features added to Axiom displays. With the August release of the Lighthouse 4.7 software upgrade, Axiom users can experience total boat control, directly from their chartplotter display, of both Power-Pole Shallow Water Anchors and all MOVE Brushless trolling motor models, including the new MOVE Offshore available in 84-, 96-, and 110-inch lengths.
