New Finn World Masters champion, Laurent Hay, from France has extended his lead to almost 200 points in Issue 006 of the Finn World Ranking list.

Behind him there is some movement, with Hungary's Antal Székely up to second and Portugal's Filipe Silva down to third. The latest list now includes 1,342 sailors from 40 nations.

While Bas de Waal, from The Netherlands, and Hungary's Akos Lukats return to the top 10, the other top positions have not changed much.

The new release includes 12 more events, including the 2024 Finn World Masters which attracted 285 entries. In all, a total of 600 individual results have been added with Hay's score the highest ever recorded, and still the only sailor to achieve more than 1,000 points so far.

As well as the World Masters, events included in Issue 006 are:

  • Pavlaska, CZE, won by Hyrš Ladisla
  • La Rochelle, FRA won by Valerian Lebrun
  • British Masters won by John Greenwood
  • US Nationals, won by Pedro Trouche
  • Finnale and Dutch Masters, won by Martijn van Muyden
  • Mandelli Trophy, Torbole, ITA, won by Florian Raudaschl
  • Niederhornkannem SUI, won by Michael Good
  • Vintage Games, FRA won by Patrick Nicolas
  • Austrian Championship, won by Michael Gubi
  • Polish Nord Cup, won by Bartosz Szydlowski
  • Slovak Open, won by Ondra Teply

The next World Ranking List will be released in November following the Finn Gold Cup in Aarhus, which already has nearly 100 entries, and the Open Europeans in Cannes, where another high entry is expected.

The Finn World Ranking list uses the events on the World Tour for Finns which includes around 60 events worldwide. Points are given based on type of event, competitive weighting and number of boats attending.
