With winds gusting up to 31 knots and temperatures of just 15oC, it felt far from Wimbledon and Henley weather in Surrey for Island Barn's summer ILCA regatta in Surrey.

The event saw a mix of expert and novice racers taking part - the experts loving the testing conditions, the less experienced testing their resolve and learning plenty of big wind skills.

In the ILCA7, Richard Lymposs from Bowmoor finished ahead of Andrew Hill Smith.

In the ILCA6, Lucas Symons and Piotr Tokajuk battled it out with two wins each, just ahead of Leah May.

And in the ILCA4 kudos to Greg Walczak who clocked three wins out of the four races, ahead of Mike Goldring and Paul Southall.

It was great to see a mix of masters and youth sailors at the event and big thanks to all at Island Barn for providing a warm welcome and, as ever, a fine cream tea.
