The Royal Corinthian Yacht Club is looking forward to welcoming teams back to Burnham on Crouch for the fourth round of the 2024 RYA Match Racing Series.

It will be the second time this season that the east coast club has hosted the Series and the popular venue has a refitted fleet of 707 keelboats ready to go for up to eight teams to #rockupandrace over the weekend of 20-21 July 2024.

As well as duelling for event honours, a ticket to the end-of-season RYA National Match Racing Grand Finals at London's Queen Mary Sailing Club is up for grabs.

The Notice of Race is at RYA Match Racing and teams of 4/5 crew are invited to sign up here with early bird entry available until 23.59 on 20th June 2024.

Event coordinator Nick Milton of RCYC said: "It's a weekend with neap tides and now we're into summer there's every chance of a sea breeze providing some good easterlies, which will give us a fantastic playground for racing three-quarters of a mile up the river.

"The club hosted Qualifier 2 in March 2024, won by Robby Boyd, so we're hoping to build on the success of that event to welcome teams back to Burnham for round four, and we'll also hopefully see some new faces. This is a great opportunity for novice match racers to rock up for an enjoyable weekend alongside the more experienced teams.

"The boats look spectacular and are in great condition after being refitted thanks to Allen and Robline, and the club is hugely supportive of match racing to keep this exciting discipline accessible locally and regionally as well as at a national level."

Sailors are invited to enjoy the club's bistro meals on the Friday and Saturday evenings with panoramic views of the river from the clubhouse and balconies, with the bar and catering available for competitors across the weekend.

Accommodation options include local B&Bs and the club also has rooms available, plus a convenient camping field and car park with electric hook-ups for motorhomes. As Nick explains: "The field is just behind the boat park and it's only a two-minute walk to the changing rooms if you dawdle!"

Enter now and for further information, or to book club accommodation or camping, contact the RCYC Office by emailing or calling 01621 782105.
