On hearing the news of this double-win, RHKYC Commodore Lucy Sutro said, “The Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club is honoured to have been recognised at the recent Yacht Style Awards as both the Best Yacht Club in Asia and also as the organiser of the Rolex China Sea Race, which was awarded the Best Sailing Event in Asia. We are passionate about our sport, and we are delighted that our commitment to promoting sailing and hosting regattas, both local and international, has been recognised at this prestigious event.”

Rolex China Sea Race Chairman, Nicolas Cohen-Addad said, “Despite variable wind conditions, the 2024 edition of the Rolex China Sea Race was again a great success. We are delighted that this event is recognised and named the Best Sailing Event in Asia at the Yacht Style Awards 2024.”

“Asia’s most storied yachting institution, the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club, remains the region’s most active sailing hub. After the testing Covid era, it again organises an action packed, year-round racing calendar, attracting about 220 entries to each of the last three editions of the annual Around the Island Race, and resuming the China Coast Regatta and Rolex China Sea Race, arguably Asia’s best regatta and offshore race respectively” said Gael Burlot, CEO of YachtStyle magazine.

The Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club was named Best Yacht Club in Asia at the Asian Boating Awards from 2014, 2016 - 2019 and the Rolex China Sea Race has been awarded the Best Asian Regatta in 2014, 2015 and 2018.
