Nick Truman passes away

We are very sad to inform you that Nick Truman died peacefully at home on Wednesday 15th May. He was 83 years old.

A sailor of International repute, Nick was the Dragon Class Gold Cup winner in 1974 sailing at Le Havre and won the Dragon Class Edinburgh Cup in 1981 sailing at Lowestoft.

Nick was also the winner of many other sailing events both in the United Kingdom and abroad and across many different fleets. He was an excellent, instinctive helmsman and just as comfortable sailing at sea as inland.

He was a member of the International Dragon Class Hall of Fame.

He will, be widely known in East Anglia as a builder of the Broads One Design "Brown Boat" Class. Nick lived for the Class and loved building and maintaining them for his various loyal customers and friends. He had meticulous attention to detail, was fiercely competitive on the water, and a loyal friend ashore.

His daughters, step-daughters, grandchildren, family and friends remember him with deep affection.
