Wayfarer National Championship at Paignton Sailing Club - Preview

The 2024 Wayfarer Nationals - sponsored by Craftinsure, Allen Brothers, Hartley Boats and McNamara Sails - will be held at Paignton Sailing Club over the 13-16th June. This is a highly anticipated event promising to bring together some of the best sailors in the Wayfarer class from across the UK. The event will be an exciting showcase of skill and teamwork in fabulously picturesque sea conditions.

The Wayfarer is a versatile and popular sailing dinghy that is known for its stability and reliability, making it a favourite among sailors of all ability levels. At the Nationals, sailors will have the opportunity to test their skills and compete against other talented class sailors from across the country, with strong fleets with associated Open events across the country at the likes Parkstone, Banbury, Blackwater, West Oxfordshire Medway, Waldringfield, Aldeburgh, Rollesby Broad, Datchet Water and Bough Beech. Likely teams in attendance include reigning National champions and recently crowned Inland Champions Andrew and Tom Wilson, Craftinsure National Circuit winners John Clementson and Mel Titmus and previous National Champion Guy Marks.

The championship will feature 11 races spread over four action-packed days, with a range of incredible sponsor prizes up for grabs. To cater to a diverse range of abilities, the event will offer Gold, Silver, and Bronze fleet designations, ensuring an inclusive and enjoyable experience for everyone.
