BIAV, LEHIA and Eildon Boat Club this week welcomed Minister Steve Dimopoulos to Lake Eildon for an industry and boating immersion.

The Minister, wearing the Better Boating Victoria jacket, is photographed with BIAV's president Scott O'Hare, Board member Daved Lambert, LEHIA president Mike Dalmau, and BIAV CEO Steve Walker. As Minister for Boating (Recreation), Tourism, Events, and Environment, the Minister was extremely keen to discuss a range of issues. They included:

  • Infrastructure needs and related funding options
  • Environmental needs relating to black and grey water
  • The Activating Lake Eildon Master Plan
  • Houseboat licences
  • Boating participation
  • Job creation
  • Future regional boat shows such as at Lake Eildon.

Industry sustainability, industry skills and the Boating Careers program was also covered as BIAV and the Minister workshopped ways to improve those crucial areas. Daved Lambert's houseboat played host as the group took part in a 'floating meeting', checking on some of the infrastructure needs, and taking in the beauty and tranquility of the lake at the same time. BIAV thanks the Minister for attending as well as for his commitment to boating, just months into his tenure. Thanks also to Daved Lambert and Eildon Boat Club for their great hospitality.
