The 5th to the 7th of July will see the European 2K Tour return to the UK after almost ten years, making it one of the highlights of the racing year.

With racing held over three days, teams are guaranteed a lot of racing and bang for their buck. Teams of six sailors will compete over a series of short windward/leeward courses where the simple format of "last boat loses" will ensure that there's always a way back into almost every race.

With the first ever keelboat team racing world championship, following the 2K format, hosted by the New York Yacht Club in their Sonars taking place in 2025. This year will see both UK and European teams keen to get some practice and be eager to demonstrate to selectors that they should be representing GBR next May. Being one of the few European clubs to team race in Sonars, the Royal Thames Yacht Club is perfectly placed to host this event.

Henry Arnold, past winner of 2K European Tour events and a Royal Thames team racer said "2K is one of the best formats of racing I compete in. The racing is fast and furious and without spinnakers and rule 17 to complicate things, it's really easy for people to get involved with. There's always a great attitude among the sailors and it will be great to welcome our friends from around Europe to our home club"

Teams wishing to secure a place at this event should head to the Calendar on the Royal Thames Yacht Club Website or request an entry through this link.
