Today is the day and we are excited for an exhilarating start to the Dutch Youth Regatta 2024!

Our dedicated event crew has been hard at work, ensuring every detail is perfected for the upcoming 29er EuroCup event. From setting up the expansive tent to organising the proficient race committees, we are primed and prepared for an unforgettable 4 days of sailing. Even the weather forecast looks great!

Many teams have already taken advantage of the past week to fine-tune their skills here in Workum. With the Netherlands' May holiday in full swing, young sailors have flocked to our shores, eager to soak up the atmosphere and hone their abilities in anticipation of the competition.

In response to the needs of the 29er fleet, we've implemented enhancements to their experience. Recognising the challenges they faced launching from the beach, we've established a brand-new launching spot tailored specifically to their needs. Check out our video on Instagram to catch a glimpse of the seamless process.

Here's a quick recap why 29er sailors simply can't afford to miss out on the Dutch Youth Regatta!

Perfect competition conditions: nestled strategically on the IJsselmeer near Workum, our race course promises impeccable sailing conditions. With its blend of challenging winds and stable waters, it's a playground perfectly suited for the spirited competition ahead.

Professional racing staff: safety and fairness are non-negotiables for us. That's why our seasoned race officials bring years of invaluable experience to the table, ensuring that every race is conducted with precision and integrity. Sailors can focus wholeheartedly on the thrill of the race, knowing they're in capable hands.

Youth-friendly approach: we're committed to making this experience as accessible and enjoyable as possible. Our race course is conveniently situated close to the venue, with family-friendly camping facilities and rental accommodation available. From camping pitches to cozy bungalows and apartments, we've got all your needs covered.

Excellent training conditions: elevate your game alongside international peers in the week leading up to the event. Take advantage of complimentary sailing facilities in the days preceding the competition—a golden opportunity for those eyeing upcoming World or European championships in your class.

We are looking forward to a great event and hope that next year the 29er fleet will be here in even greater numbers.
