Grand Large Yachting and Outremer are proud to announce the launch of the first Outremer 45 built in Lorient, named "Zoulpi". Although the launch couldn't take place this morning due to unfavorable weather conditions, this event is an important milestone for the Grand Large Yachting group and the Outremer shipyard.

It not only marks the beginning of production for the Outremer 45 and 4X catamarans at the new manufacturing site in Lorient but also underscores the expansion of Outremer catamarans' production capacity. This strategic decision will enable the shipyard to reduce waiting times for all its customers.

The transition to Lorient follows the successful acquisition of the Ocean Rider Catamaran (ORC) brand last September. This strategic integration allows Grand Large Yachting to strengthen its position as a leader in the blue-water cruising market by manufacturing high-performance catamarans while benefiting from the infrastructure and expertise of one of the most renowned shipyards in the region. It also extends the group's mission to more future owners: enabling everyone, experienced sailor or not, to fulfill their dream of a small or large sailing voyage while respecting the oceans, providing them with security, serenity, and support at every step of the project.

The collaboration between the teams in La Grande-Motte and Lorient has been crucial in ensuring a smooth and efficient transition within production. The process involved not only the transfer of knowledge and skills but also the harmonization of production practices to guarantee the high standards of quality and performance for which Outremer is globally recognized. Outremer sets the benchmark for long-range cruising catamarans and builds seaworthy and high-performance boats whose comfort allows for long-distance sailing around the Equator.

Although the official launch of Zoulpi was initially scheduled for today, weather conditions have led to a cautious postponement to Friday, May 3, 2024. Despite this delay, this morning's event was celebrated with enthusiasm, in the presence of Xavier Desmarest, CEO and Co-founder of the Grand Large Yachting group, partners, and teams from Lorient, accompanied by a friendly breakfast on Quai Papin.
