The seventh edition of the Foiling Awards has its winners. The prizes for the best foiling athletes, projects and products of the last 12 months were awarded in Genoa based on votes cast online by the global foiling community.

We believe the WASZP Community is simply the best in the world, and that has been confirmed by the amount of support from our sailors and families in the voting for the seventh foiling awards.

Hattie Rogers claimed the Female Foiling Sailor of the Year with a stunning 12months, while Sam Street underpinned why he is one of the biggest up and coming young stars of the sailing world, by taking out Male Sailor of the Year. We love to share our sailors success and when these fantastic young people win, we all win.

The WASZP Class claimed the pathway of the year award, beating off the Youth Americas Cup for the top prize. However, perhaps the most significant award was the Forlanini Award.

The 'Forlanini', the overall award to the 'winner among winners' dedicated to the renowned Italian foiling pioneer, was awarded to the WASZP Class (Foiling Pathway Award 2024). It was a unanimous decision based mainly on the price, which was more convenient than similar boats, making it possible for a wider segment of the female and male public to buy it, and the fact that it currently represents an excellent waypoint to more demanding boats.

The jury, made up of Award winners of previous editions, consisted this year of: Glenn Ashby - Emirates Team New Zealand, Roberto Lacorte - Flying Nikka, Doug Schickler - ST Yachts, Ferdinand Van West - NYYC American Magic Team and Oleksandr Muratov - Proteus 360.

Thank you to the team at We Are Foiling for all their support.
