Swiss J/70 Winter Series Report- Act III

The Swiss Sailing League again headed down to Punat, Croatia to conduct their Winter Series and also provide "training weekends" for both Swiss and Austrian teams participating in their respective sailing leagues this coming summer.

This past weekend offered spectacular sailing on the eastern shores of the picturesque Adriatic Sea. Both days were sunny and gorgeous. The first day was pure champagne sailing with up to 20 kts of breeze. The second day started with a "bora" wind blowing 30+ kts. However, by midday, the wind abated enough on the Bay of Punta to enable the sailors to complete their weekend of racing.

After three events, it's Yacht Club Velden leading the fleet with Mr. Schamlzl at the helm, winning more than their fair share of races! Then, Yacht Club Austria's Max Seidl is skippering their team and is comfortably in second place. Then, sitting in third place on the provisional podium is another Yacht Club Velden team led by Mr. Sammer. One more weekend of racing will determine the outcome of this fun series down on the Adriatic Sea and Bay of Punat!
