Imtra salesman Ed Dickson retires

by IMTRA 30 Jan 2024 14:35 PST

IMTRA, the leading manufacturer and importer of quality solutions and products for the marine, energy and transportation markets, announced today the retirement of Ed Dickson, who is stepping back after 37 years in sales with the company. In addition, Hernan Garcia has joined the team and will represent IMTRA and their brands in the territory that Dickson served for so many years.

Dickson, who was based out of northeast Florida during his tenure, officially retired on December 31, 2023. He spent his career with IMTRA representing the company and supporting their business partners with his commitment, enthusiasm and his unique dry sense of humor. Now in his retirement, he plans to devote time to his hobbies: photography, water sports, flying private planes and travel.

"We are so proud to have worked alongside Ed for all these years, and we're all going to miss him in his retirement," said Eric Braitmayer, president and CEO of IMTRA. "He's been instrumental in forging some of our most longstanding relationships with loyal customers and was always tuned into what is going on in the marketplace. We thank him for everything he has done and wish him well in the next chapter of his life."

Garcia, who officially started with the IMTRA team in mid-January and is based in Knoxville, Tenn., will be responsible for accounts ranging from Tennessee to northeast Florida. He has a BSE in Naval Architecture and Engineering from the University of Michigan and has over 25 years of experience in the marine industry, including his time with Sea Ray in various engineering and sales roles. He more recently served as the Director of Engineering at NauticStar Boats and helped Gator Step develop OEM sales throughout the south.

"I'm delighted that Hernan has chosen to bring his experience and skills to the IMTRA team," said Chip Farnham, vice president of recreational sales, IMTRA. "This is a vital region for our sales team to cover, and with his extensive knowledge of our industry and his considerable talents, I have complete confidence that he'll not only be a great fit with our customers, but a valuable asset to the company well into the future."

In his free time, Garcia is an ultramarathoner who enjoys spending time with his family and in the outdoors. He has lived in six countries throughout North and South America, and is fluent in Spanish, Portuguese and English.
