The second edition of the Thailand International Boat Show A Luxury Lifestyle Event officially opened with organisers expecting over 6,000 visitors, including over 3,000 HNWIs from around the world, and to drive growth for Thailand's marine industry in 2024 and beyond. Held 11-14 January at Royal Phuket Marina, entry is free.

With strong government support, the show was officially opened by Mr. Kitti Chaodee, Secretary to Thailand's Minister for Tourism and Sports who in his opening address noted the importance of the Thailand International Boat Show and its role in boosting tourism. Mr. Kitti also highlighted the importance of tourism as a mechanism to help Thailand's economic recovery and she thanked all stakeholders who help to make Phuket and Thailand so welcoming to visitors from around the world.

Building on the success of the inaugural show, this year's event has expanded in size and boasts an impressive multi-billion display of sail and motor yachts in the water ranging in price from under 1 million baht upto superyachts worth more than 400 million baht. Charter yachts are also on display, including the 40 metre superyacht M/Y Silentworld which is being presented by ISEO Yachting of Hong Kong and TJB Superyachts of London.

Speaking at the official opening, Mr. Adul Chuthong, Deputy Governor of Phuket shared that Phuket is developing sustainable tourism strategies that will cement its position as a global destination that meets international standards. Recognising the importance of marine tourism and the Thailand International Boat Show, the Deputy Governor stressed that continuous tourism growth will help to empower and develop a strong local economy.

"We're excited to welcome visitors from around the world to what is our biggest Thailand International Boat Show yet," said Mr. David Hayes, CEO of organisers JAND Events. "Visitors can enjoy the diverse line-up of boats on display in the water, which is complemented by many leading luxury brands and businesses who are exhibiting in the marquee onshore as well as a packed four-day social programme. The show is designed to be an enjoyable, fun and interactive experience for all members of the family and a platform to drive business for Thailand's marine industry."

In addition to the exhibitor displays, visitors can also enjoy the waterside eateries along Royal Phuket Marina's boardwalk and the daily live entertainment and social activities in the evenings, as well as family fun daytime activities on Children's Day.

Happening for the first time this year was the Thailand Yachting Conference which took place the day prior to the boat show (10th January) and welcomed expert speakers delegates from across Asia-Pacific. Also debuting this year was Robb Report Thailand Best Of The Best Yachting Awards which celebrated the leading lights in Thailand's yachting industry at a lavish Gala Dinner the evening before the show opened.

The Thailand International Boat Show A Luxury Lifestyle Event is taking place 11-14 January, 2024 at Royal Phuket Marina and is open daily from 13:00 - 20:00 except on Sunday 14th January when the show closes at 19:00. Entry is free. For more information, www.thailandinternationalboatshow.com.
