A few day ago, Joule, a New Windelo 50 Yachting, and her crew had set off to participate in the ARC Atlantic crossing 2023.

Arrived in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria on November 2, Joule and her crew were welcomed by the Windelo team, who came to support them in preparing for their transatlantic crossing. A busy program for these few days in Las Palmas, including the safety check by the WRC, the final technical preparations... The Joule crew, assembled for the occasion, still managed to take some time to explore the Canary Islands!

The Joule crew is crossing the Atlantic approximately two months after their boat delivery; during the race, they will still be learning their new boat. They decided to join the ARC 2023 for the camaraderie of like-minded people and the security that the organized event offers. With this experience, they will learn all the ins and outs of their Windelo and create unforgettable memories!

The opportunity to cross the Atlantic is an experience like no other. It's a chance to get closer to nature and yourself. The ocean's vastness, the beauty of the sky, and the serenity of being surrounded by nothing but water create an emotional connection that's hard to describe. The feeling of being one with the world around you is incredible.

Jay & Barry, the owners of Joule, shared with us some great memories of their first crossing week!

"2023-11-21: We have a new crew member onboard, a raptor! He stayed with us for two days, flying around Joule or relaxing onboard!!!
2023-11-22: Yay, enough sun to turn on the watermaker! We are five onboard, but we will try not to use diesel for our crossing! By 1:15, we will be up to the same battery level as when we shut down the motors last night at 7:30. We are generating 3.3 kW with hydrogeneration and solar power!
2023-11-23: Happy US Thanksgiving! Preparing a lovely meal in full comfort!
2023-11-24: Just hit 12.2! And now 13.4 knots!
2023-11-26: 1999 nautical miles to go! "Tonight I'm [we're] gonna party like its 1999." Prince song"
