Rooster® are proud to launch their collaboration with Ocean
Co., through sales within their Aquafleece® product range.
For every purchase of Aquafleece® products, customers will
be saving up to 2kg of plastic from entering the Ocean -
that's up to 200 ocean-bound plastic bottles...
Ocean Co. are a global movement dedicated to collecting
7 billion ocean-bound plastic bottles by 2025, while
supporting livelihoods in coastal regions around the world
where plastic pollution is worst.
Plastic is collected by locals from some of the worst affected
coastal communities such as the Philippines, Brazil, Egypt,
Ghana, India and Indonesia, who then exchange the plastic
for money or receive digital credit to swap for tuition, tech
goods, healthcare and micro-finance.
This infrastructure is
made possible with help from partners Plastic Bank, Plastics
for Change and rePurpose who set up collection sites
and ensure transactions to collectors are secure through
traceable technology.
Rooster's core product line, Aquafleece®, has been a
cornerstone of the business for over 22 years. Some of the
initial products from its inception can still be spotted in boat
parks today, a testament to their enduring quality. They
take pride in the longevity and sustainability of this range,
benefiting both the business and the customer. Currently
the brand's best-selling line, where the fabric has recently
been upgraded to incorporate recycled fleece.
By partnering
with Ocean Co. on the Aquafleece® range, Rooster® are
committed to making a significant impact on reducing
ocean-bound plastic and simultaneously generating
employment opportunities in underserved communities.
The ocean covers more than 70% of the planet, plays a
crucial role in sustaining life, providing over 95% of the
world's biodiversity, and furnishing billions of people with
food and income.
22 million kg of plastic enters the ocean every day, equivalent
to one truckload every minute. It is predicted that, without
intervention, by 2050 the plastic in the ocean will outweigh
the fish.
Rooster®, a brand committed to the outdoors with deep
roots in the spirit of adventure, recognise the importance
of safeguarding the very playgrounds in which we play,
compete, and live.
