Founded in Shenzhen in 2007, the China Cup Sailing Race is the first international sailing event founded by Chinese people and it comes to the 15th anniversary.

The Race is held over five days of racing and is organized by Chinese Yachting Association and Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports. This is an event recognized by the China government under the name of the "China Cup" and is also an important event listed in the "International Sailing Federation" calendar. This "Best Sailing Race is Asia" is a highly recognized event for its approval by General Administration of Sport of China and cosponsored by the Water Sports Management Center of the General Administration of Sport of China and the Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

The regatta is supported by a number of yacht clubs, which include Hebe Haven Yacht Club ("HHYC") and Shenzhen Vanke Longcheer Yacht Club for the base support, along with Shenzhen Dapeng Yacht Club and Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club. HHYC is glad to be involved in this high-end sports brand event this year and will be chartering its iconic club boat Hebe One. The boat will be served as the official race committee boat of the China Cup. Hebe One is 43-foot flybridge power catamaran, purposely built for HHYC and is renowned for its well equipped with sturdy flagpole racks and electric horn for race signals on both sides of the catamaran, rain shields on the upper deck for the wet days.

The boat has been appraised for its high level of comfort and stability, on a regular basis having its experienced members and club marine staff aboard for race management support of sailing regattas of different scales alongside many other club cruising events as well as a VIP boat for on-water taster experience, since officially launched in year 2017.

The China Cup Sailing Race will be held from 2 - 6 November 2023 at Daya Bay, Shenzhen, China. The race start line set in the area of Steep Island on 2 November 2023. There are more than 30 boats from Hong Kong joining the Race this year, which include Minnie the Moocher, H3O, LoTechManbude, LoTech-Jibulai and ZOE Hong Kong. Being professionally recognized with Line Honors of HKPN Division B respectively in 2012 & 2017, there is no surprise that the highly competitive and experienced crew members like Minnie the Moocher to reach new heights with their 37 feet Kerr 11.2. Team LoTech-Jibulai on a Beneteau Oceanis 46 boat, another active racing team frequently making their appearance at the podium of HHYC sailing regattas, is expected to be in the spotlight at this Race.

Sailing is a sports for all. The 15th China Cup International Regatta 2023 is truly a much-anticipated event to once again unlock the gateway for sailors across all walks of life. The event will no doubt inject continuous impetus to the growth and development of the sports industry, to further facilitate the connections, unity and collaboration across the border.
