The Boat Works' Stage 5, comprising of more sheds and more hardstand has now reached completion in time for the next wave of vessels heading north for summer cruising.

The next phase is works on the waterfront with additional new marina berths. The installation of the concrete pontoon system known as Super Elite from Superior Jetties is under way.

Andy Vollmer, Project Manager at Superior Jetties, said the expansion is a boon for visiting boaties and offers berths for vessels up to 24-metres.

"We have added nearly 300 lineal metres of new berthing, and we have given the rest of the marina a subtle facelift with new pile caps, for a refresh and to help incoming Captains and Owners identify marina arms by colour as they approach," he explained.

All in-water service berths are reinforced with ProFender premium dock protection for the safety of every vessel.

The Boat Works' owner, Tony Longhurst said the new sheds and hardstand teamed with the 18 new berths will be immediately snapped up by visiting boats.

"There is a huge demand to accommodate more boats undercover and our 70 sheds have reached capacity. We are proud to offer new opportunities for growth for all our marine service providers and partners within our two world-class yards. Their success in turn enhances our operational efficiency."

Superior Jetties has again been contracted to install the new berths, following their installation of 50 superyacht berths in the Superyacht Basin just three years ago.

Works will be completed soon, allowing owners plenty of time to book in for berthing and works in the New Year.

The Boat Works' marina boasts in-water service berths catering to vessels of all sizes, including wide-bodied multihulls to suit any beam. Welcoming up to 30 superyachts to 65-metres in length, with the benefit of extra wide pontoons for in water service works and provisioning.

Gold Coast Waterways Authority (GCWA) has committed to continual dredging works within the Coomera River to ensure a 3.5-metre depth at low tide.

Visiting owners and crew praise The Boat Works' 80 on-site marine service professionals, including the Marine Supplies Chandlery with thousands of items in stock and quick turnaround time for orders, plus ease of access to the hundreds of trades and suppliers within the Gold Coast Marine Precinct.

From the recent 5 gold anchor audit which sought comments from customers, the response was unanimous: "The Boat Works has the best facilities in Australia."

"I've been cruising for 34 years, full-time, I've done 18 haul outs in that time and eight of those at The Boat Works. It's the only place to go. I wouldn't go anywhere else," said one satisfied customer.

Another quipped, "I wish I hadn't recommended it to so many people, it's so big and busy now. But seriously, it's the only place I would take my boat."

And from a long-range cruising yacht owner, "They planted fruit and vegetables which is just great. Imagine being able to turn up on your boat and go and pick free stuff!"

The Longhurst family is investing heavily in infrastructure ahead of a predicted influx of yachts in the lead up to the 2032 Olympic Games and the rising demand for berths 20-metres and above.

"The Boat Works is an accredited Superyacht Ready marina and holds 5 Gold Anchor certification," stated General Manager, Shane Subichin.

"The Boat Works has evolved to provide two world class boatyard - marina and superyacht yards, with high-end facilities and new lifting equipment, while maintaining our focus on customer service," he added.

"We are proud of our reputation for exceptional internal culture and going above and beyond for our customers. This is yet another period of exciting growth for our industry and the south-east Queensland region, welcoming more boats which means more jobs."
