New Zealand Food Safety today removed the public health warning against collecting shellfish from the Raglan Coast.
The warning extended from Port Waikato, southward to Tauratahi Point at the entrance of Kawhia Harbour. The warning included the entire Raglan and Aotea Harbours but not Kawhia Harbour.
Further sampling of shellfish in the area has shown that PSP toxins are now at safe levels.
The warning for Queen Charlotte Sound remains in place.
