Perfect conditions for Maritimo

The opening day of the Bartercard Sail Paradise witnessed a spectacular display of sailing prowess from Maritimo Racing, with the team securing the first and second positions. In this fiercely contested event, over 40 boats representing three divisions vied for the coveted Bartercard honours.

Sailing enthusiasts enjoyed optimal conditions for the competition, with a consistent north, north-east breeze at around fifteen knots and minimal swell, creating a perfect backdrop for a thrilling day of racing. As the first day of the event unfolded, it became evident that this was just the beginning of a remarkable weekend of sailing action.

A notable highlight of the day was the inaugural Parade in Paradise, which added a touch of elegance to the event's commencement with most of the fleet 'showing off' for Gold Coast locals, then heading to the start-line. Maritimo Racing, fielding two competitive boats, engaged in intense battles with contenders like ''Hutchies Yeah Baby'' and ''Black Diamond'' throughout the day, setting the stage for an exciting competition.

While today's racing was undeniably competitive, tomorrow promises stronger winds, hinting at even faster-paced racing action. With the first day providing valuable experience, all crews are poised to bring their best in the coming days, making Bartercard Sail Paradise 2023 a spectacle not to be missed.
