Cup Spy has left New Zealand for a couple of weeks. Over the coming fortnight - due to limited facilities - we can only produce a very limited analysis of the daily activities from the teams. Normal service will resume on October 10.

The breeze all but deserted Barcelona on Friday, disrupting a planned sailing day for the Swiss, and leaving the US team no option than to run with a plannned photo-shoot, using a towed up AC40.

AC37 Joint Recon Team Reports:

Alinghi Red Bull Racing - AC75 - September 29, 2023 - Barcelona

Alinghi Red Bull Racing had hopes on finding a little breeze out on the water despite today's tricky forecast.

ARBR team rolled their AC75 at 08:00hrs, and after the mast procedure, the yacht was craned into the water and placed alongside the chaseboat where they did a couple of foil checks: up-down.

By 10:00hrs, they left the dock and hoisted the main inside the port.

They towed the boat for one hour until they decided to lower the main and go back inside the port.

The team docked in at 12:10hrs without any sailing. Their plan is to retake sailing on Monday next week.

American Magic - A40 - September 29, 2023 - Barcelona

American Magic rolled out their AC40 “America” from the shed at 08.50hrs. The boat was craned to the water at 09:20hrs and the team docked out at 10.22hrs as planned. The MN-3 and the J1 were hoisted inside the port.

The plan for the day was a commercial photo shooting short session, for one of their clothing sponsors. Some guests joined on the two chase boats.

No training was carried out.

After taking pictures on the tow for 45 minutes, America was towed back to the port where sails were lowered at 11:35, the boat was back at the dock at 11:45 and craned out at 12:25.
