Boris Herrmann's Team Malizia and gebrueder beetz Filmproduktion announce they have entered into an exclusive agreement on a feature length prime documentary. Shooting has already started. The film will dive deeply into the life of Germany's most popular sailor and accompany him and his team for 6 months in preparation of his second Vendée Globe, the world's toughest sailing race round the world - solo, non-stop and without assistance.

In 2021, Boris Herrmann was the first German to ever participate in the iconic race, accomplishing his long-time dream. Alone at sea in the most remote areas of the world, he battled harsh sailing conditions and loneliness. After 80 days alone at sea, only 24 hours before the finish line Boris Herrmann crashed with a fisher boat, which nearly ended his race. Still he managed to finish in an amazing fifth place. Since then, Boris Herrmann and his Team Malizia have designed and built a brand new racing yacht, Malizia - Seaexplorer, which they launched in 2022 and already sailed around the world with in a crew race during The Ocean Race 2022-23. Now, Boris Herrmann is getting back into solo racing and starting to get his Malizia - Seaexplorer ready for the 2024 edition of the Vendée Globe. But will he himself be prepared for the challenge, too?

The documentary will be an encouraging and inspiring story about passion and dedication, about facing and overcoming hardship, doubts and throwbacks to pursue a vision and a life-long dream. The film will be ready for broadcast, beginning of autumn 2024.

Team Malizia's A Race We Must Win - Climate Action Now! mission is only possible due to the strong and long-lasting commitment from its seven main partners: the Yacht Club de Monaco, EFG International, Zurich Group Germany, Kuehne+Nagel, MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company, Hapag-Lloyd, and Schütz. These partners band behind Team Malizia to support its campaign, each of them working towards projects in their own field to innovate around climate solutions.
