  • EUROSAF Inclusive European Championship in Spain just started

September has seen a whirlwind of EUROSAF events: Three European Class Championships have been sailed under the EUROSAF umbrella, the EUROSAF Inclusive Cup has been concluded with the final regatta in Prien on Lake Chiemsee, and today at noon the first race of the EUROSAF Inclusive European Championship will start, taking place at the new EUROSAF Sailing Academy Centre in Murcia, Spain.

2023 EUROSAF BENETEAU First 27 SE & Seascape27 European Single-Handed Championship: 13-17 September; Svendborg, Denmark
For the third time in a row, this single-handed regatta took place in Denmark as a part of the Silverrudder race. This time the Czech Milan Tomek prevailed in this unique and challenging regatta.

2023 EUROSAF Pirat European Championship: 16-23 September; Csopak, Hungary
The Pirat class has been connected to the European Sailing Federation for many years. The 2023 Europeans took place under very changeable conditions at Lake Balaton. In the huge field of 76 teams from 6 nations, Germany came out on top.

2023 EUROSAF 69F European Championship: 19-24 September; Puntaldia, Italy
Last week also saw the first ever European Championship in the 69F class. The 69F, a unique one-design, foiling monohull for crews, and a diverse array of weather conditions were perfect for the sailors to show their skills and expertise. The 7 teams sailed 16 fantastic races in front of Sardinia. With a Finnish team on top of the podium.

2023 EUROSAF Inclusive Cup: 2023 edition finished
Also last weekend, the third EUROSAF Inclusive Cup was concluded with the last regatta of the season. In 2023, it consisted of a total of 6 regattas in Austria, Germany and Italy. Due to cancellations at short notice and too few participants in some events, only 2 regattas were included in the ranking. On the podium were three German sailors, a total of 62 sailors from 6 nations were in the 2023 ranking.

2023 EUROSAF Inclusive European Championship in Spain: First races today Another championship has just started. The EUROSAF Inclusive European Championship has been running since Saturday. It is sailed in the Hansa 303 class. There are 35 entries, single and double, from 7 nations at the start in Los Alcázares. After measurement and training, the first races will take place today.

This is also the opening event in the new EUROSAF Sailing Academy. As announced in spring, the EUROSAF Sailing Academy Centre in Los Alcázares, Murcia, has now opened after some renovation work. The Centre will be used by EUROSAF itself and is available to all Members on request, for courses, seminars, and competitions. In addition to training and education opportunities, the Centre also provides auxiliary services like accommodation, meals, classrooms, gyms, etc., managed by the Region. The geographical location in the southeast of Spain, accessible from Alicante airport, has the enormous advantage that high-level sailing is possible here all year round, with wonderful winter conditions. Enquiries and booking via www.eurosaf-academy.com.

The last EUROSAF Championship for 2023 will take place in December: It is the EUROSAF Match Racing, Open European Championship from 5 to 9 December in Bedanne, France. NoR and more information will be published soon.
