2023 Pacasmayo Classic, Day 2 - The swell rolls in

by International Windsurfing Tour 30 Aug 2023 09:30 PDT

Day 1 of the Pro Men's heats saw round 1 completed in gorgeous waves in Pacasmayo, Peru. The 4 Star Pacasmayo Classic on the Unified PWA IWT Wave Tour is scoring seriously beautiful waves and the world's great riders are carving up the buttery smooth surfaces!

You can watch all the pro heats and see how your favorite riders were shredding this golden perfection. Today's live broadcast is available in full on our youtube channel, or the Peru event page. Top 2 riders advance to Round 3 for the top 16 Quarter Finals. They're safe, for now. The bottom 2 riders advance to Round 2 for a second chance in the REDEMPTION ROUND but... they then have to WIN their next heat to stay in the game... a few big names are under pressure...

This day was not only for the Pros. The Open Amateur divisions started the day in the rising swell. Early heats saw new lines filling in slowly, but still with beautiful contestable walls. The bracket was whittled down to the final, with many strong performances throughout. The last four standing include Charlie Rovira, Zac Coleman, Octavio Cavalaro, and Felix Bermudez, setting up a dramatic final to be run in the coming days.
