NCSC August Bank Holiday Games 2023

by David Eberlin 30 Aug 2023 01:17 AEST 28 August 2023

Last year the Commodore Martin hart instigated the Notts County Games on August Bank Holiday Monday, which consists of fun games on water and shore, nothing too serious and all ages welcome. Around fifty club members entered. The event raised £105 for the RNLI from registrations.

The Games are a light hearted event with onshore games, like a water balloon at the Commodore, Jenga, Indoor rowing competition, quoits and much more. Entrants varied from very young to quite a bit older, and many families took part - and all had smiles on their faces.

Sunday night saw a variety of games, with the bar open and picnics, quite a few camping over.

Monday was warm, with some sun and virtually no rain. The events started with on the water Wordle (clues attached to buoys around the lake, and after a losing pause for a leisurely lunch and more onshore games the afternoon saw a mixed relay race with SUPs and a variety of boats, and finished with on water tug of war.

Also onshore was the Sailability cake stall which raised £110 for the club's Sailability section, thanks to Anne and team. In addition, John Davie presented Anne Clark with £500 for Sailability from money raised from Tuesday night sailors food.
