A big shout-out to the legends at the Weipa Billfish Club Inc. and the Queensland Game Fishing Association who hooked and released a sailfish at one of our Fish Aggregating Devices (FADs) recently.

The club released three sailfish fitted with external acoustic tags, which help us learn more about this species and their movement patterns off the Gulf of Carpentaria.

The FADs are fitted with acoustic receivers and form part of the Integrated Marine Observing System (IMOS) array for tracking tagged animals around Australia.
