Monday morning saw the start of Ramsgate Week with local dignitaries Madam Mayor Pat Moore, the Town Sargent, and representatives of our main sponsors St Lawrence College, on hand to oversee the start of proceedings in Race Control at the end of Ramsgate East Pier.

With improving weather conditions and the sun finally making an appearance happy sailors aboard a 35+ strong fleet undertook a variety of courses to the North of Ramsgate in breezes of around 12-15 knots.

This year sees the addition of a new class (4) for boats restricted to asymmetrical spinnakers and Code 0 sails to cater for the evolving trend toward cruisers favouring this set up. Boats in this class will race their own 'reachy' courses to play to their strengths.
