Are you a young sailor enjoying your racing? Want to hone your skills over the winter? The South West RS Tera Squad and SWSYSA Winter Race Coaching are now inviting non-binding expressions of interest.

After several successful years, the 2023-24 Winter Race Coaching in the South West is running once again. Its aimed at sailors aged 10-18 who have started racing, and more experienced sailors who are improving their racing skills.

There will be 9 dates through the winter (mainly Saturdays only) at a variety of locations in the SW, giving different sailing conditions. The sessions will be lead by experienced, RYA accredited coaches, male and female who are successful racing sailors at National & World Championship level. Its an opportunity to learn from the best!

Skill development from the winter's program has been very significant - in previous years several sailors have gone onto podium place finishes at several high profile events, and all report substantial increase in skill, performance and results. As well as high quality coaching, the program is very friendly and great fun, with sailors from different clubs often having their first taste of travelling and meeting other like minded sailors in the region.

There will be separate Fleets for ILCA (Laser), RS Tera and Topper. The RS Tera South West Squad includes two options additional optional weekends, training jointly with the Tera Southern Squad, which is a great opportunity to sail with larger Tera fleets.

SWYSA works very hard to keep costs low, with the aim that it should be available to all. Bursary places and help with boat transport also available.

Expressions of interest are open now at www.tinyurl.com/race-coaching
