Centounonavi presents Vespro with a tour in the Mediterranean and world debut

by Centounonavi 13 Jul 2023 02:29 PDT 12-17 September 2023

Vespro is the first model launched by Centounonavi. With a length of 16.70 meters and a beam of 4.6 meters, Vespro is the smallest in its range after FORZA of 28 meters and ETEREA of 39 meters, but it is also true that this powerful fast cruiser is a concentrate of technology that deserves the utmost attention, like all the creations of the "made in Italy" brand Centounonavi.

Centounonavi was founded by two entrepreneurs, the designer Manuela Lucchesi and the naval engineer Marco Arnaboldi, who have focused on speed and comfort, without neglecting attention to the environment.

Manuela Lucchesi, manager and designer, is the creator and custodian of the original style of Centounonavi as well as, far from being a secondary role, financial manager of the company. Without forgetting that she is the one who strongly backed the creation of this truly unique shipyard on the world nautical scene.

Born into the profession, Marco Arnaboldi inherited from his father Angelo not only the passion for yacht design but also his love for speed. His father Angelo, boasts a past as a designer for the most prestigious shipyards in Viareggio, but above all he is the founder of AB Yachts, the shipyard where Marco Arnaboldi at the age of 16 gained his skills and first experiences. In 2010, Marco Arnaboldi decided to found his own firm, working with the most important shipyards in the world. A career with a single common denominator: designing high-performance boats in composite and with water jet propulsion, technologies that make them today an authentic reference for the entire nautical world.

Not just speed

Vespro is equipped with two 1,200 hp MAN 8V engines coupled to MJP 350X water jets and is capable of reaching a maximum speed of 56 knots and a cruising speed of 50 knots. At top speed she has a range of 350 nautical miles, while at that cruising consumption she settles at 8 l/nm, an extraordinary figure considering the speed and size of the yacht.

"Our pay-off 'FAST IS GREEN' is not just a statement but a real design choice supported by a series of eco-friendly solutions", says Manuela Lucchesi. "The PVC foams used are recycled as are other materials that have been used in construction. Thanks to the maximum containment of weight and the particularly efficient hull shapes, consumption is considerably reduced and the water jet propulsion respects the marine fauna often endangered by propellers. Even the design is never a stylistic exercise as an end in itself, but is always a function of efficiency and practicality of use: for example, the dynamic air intakes are integrated into the rollbar, while the vertical anchor windlass system, a solution developed by Centounonavi in the patent phase, allows you to gain a linear meter in the bow to the full advantage of the owner's cabin".

A luxury layout was chosen for the interiors of the first Vespro: owner's cabin with private bathroom and separate shower box in the bow, a large saloon with galley and a second service bathroom and finally a second guest cabin at the aft.

The exterior design revisits a classic open style with originality: the windshield can be retracted into the roof of the deckhouse for totally "en plein air" navigation, a feature common to every Centounonavi model. Under the hardtop is an L-shaped sofa with dining table, another sofa opposite, bar cabinet and, of course, the helm station. The aft cockpit features a walkaround sundeck that can be transformed into a dining area with foldable bulwarks that extend its surface and that of the swimming platform, while the foredeck is easily accessible from the comfortable side decks on both sides and is almost entirely occupied by a large sundeck. "Vespro combines performance with navigation comfort, speed with low noise and very little vibration. Each boat is tailor-made for its owner, a true masterpiece" explains Marco Arnaboldi

Vespro is nearing completion and will be launched in mid-August and then immediately put to sea. It starts its summer tour from Santa Margherita Ligure and then continues to Portofino, Monte-Carlo and Saint-Tropez. The official world debut will take place at the Cannes Yachting Festival (12-17 September 2023) for its official presentation.
