The Union Yachtclub Attersee hosted the second tour stop of the Austrian Sailing League. At the end of a long sailing weekend, it was again the Mattsee Sailing Club (SCM) that was able to claim the top spot on the podium.

They had already triumphed at the start in Velden am Wörthersee, and Salzburg continued their winning streak at Attersee. The Union Yachtclub Attersee team ended up in second place and thus remained the first pursuer of the SCM and stayed close to the SCM up to 3.5 points after 28 races in the intermediate classification after two league events. Third place went to STWV Achensee, which also showed a strong performance.

The changing weather conditions over the three days with sun, rain, cloudy skies and strongly shifting winds from west to south posed a real challenge for the race committee and participants. Nevertheless, 45 races could be completed from Friday midday until late Sunday afternoon. The fact that not only all the top ten teams were able to win one or more races, but also clubs from the relegation zone such as the UYC Traunsee and the Yachtclub Austria won at least one race shows how close it is for the top Austrian sailing clubs.

Helmsman Stefan Scharnagl from the SCM was correspondingly cautious, commenting, "With last season's final we were able to win the last three events in a row, but the motivation to win the championship is correspondingly very high. But if you look back at the past, you can see that one botched league weekend is enough and you're out of the title race right away. So you have to be humble and try to keep the points low from race to race."

On an international level, things continue from July 22nd to 25th with the Champions League final in Travemünde. Four local representatives have qualified for this: the Burgenland Yacht Club, the Podersdorf Yacht Club, the UYC Attersee, and most recently the UYC Wolfgangsee. On the first weekend in August, the third national league event of the season is on the agenda at Lake Achensee.

As with the last event at Lake Wörthersee, four live streams were broadcast. Every Saturday and Sunday at 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. Julia Stelzl and Roland Regnemer moderated the show with a lot of charm, know-how, and studio guests.
