2023 Bayview Mackinac Race - 39 days to go

It's June, and we are 39 days from the start of the 99th Bayview Mackinac Race!

Revised Safety Equipment Requirements (SERs) have been posted on the race website. Please review the complete document before determining that you have met the requirements. A list of the changes from the 2022 Bayview Mackinac Race SERs is included in the document. If you have any questions, please contact Charlie Trost at .

Race entry/requirements

Over 200 boats have applied to compete in the 2023 Bayview Mackinac Race, scheduled to start on Saturday, July 15, 2023. With this in mind, please take note of the following Upcoming Deadlines and take action as required:

The Late Entry Deadline is June 9, 2023, at 1700 hours; a $500.00 (US funds) late fee will be applied to any entries completed after June 1, 2023, at 1700 hours.

Please note that all of the following must be submitted in order for an entry to be considered completed (see Notice and Conditions of Race Section 7):

  • Completed Entry Form;
  • Entry Fee Payment;
  • Preliminary Crew List;
  • Race Tracking Application; and,
  • For those choosing to compete for the Main Sheet Trophy (Corinthian Class Winners), the designation of their entire crew as World Sailing Group 1 (Amateur) sailors.

If you have not completed the entry process, please do so promptly. All forms required to complete the entry and registration process can be found at: www.bycmack.com

All monohulls are required to have a valid 2023 ORC rating certificate dated no later than June 15, 2023. If you have not applied for a 2023 ORC rating certificate, please do so promptly, as a valid rating certificate is required to participate in the Race. For our US competitors, ORC applications can be obtained here.

All multihulls are required to furnish a valid 2023 GLMRA rating certificate dated no later than June 15, 2023. If you have not applied for a 2023 GLMRA rating certificate, please do so promptly, as a valid rating certificate is required to participate in the Race. GLMRA applications can be obtained

ORC rating certificate
Once you receive your ORC Rating Certificate, please add the ORC Reference number to your boat record on the event website. The ORC Reference number is located in the lower-left corner of your certificate.

Bayview Mackinac Race - Official Gear

Official 2023 Bayview Mackinac Race gear is available for pre-order! We are happy to partner with High Winds Graphix to provide our merchandise.

For delivery before the start of the race, Hawaiian shirt and dress orders are due by Monday, June 12th. All other orders must be submitted by Tuesday, June 27th. Screen-printed or Hawaiian garments will be shipped from mid-June to early July. Other items may be shipped earlier. $10 Flat Rate Shipping in the US.

Complimentary pick-up at Race Registration at Bayview on July 13th, Mission Point Resort on July 16th and 17th, and the Island Awards Party on July 18th.

A limited inventory of tees, belts, hats, tanks, and sweatshirts will be available for in-person purchase as follows:

Mission Point Resort - Sunday 7/16 & Monday 7/17 - 1 PM - 7 PM
Mackinac Island Awards Party 7/18 - Noon - 3PM

The web store will remain open after June 27th. However, product delivery before the start of the race is not guaranteed.
